An award-winning media executive and storyteller, Tom Gierasimczuk is also editor-in-chief of BCBusiness magazine, Canada Wide’s blue-chip consumer media title. He leads Canada Wide Media’s continued excellence in cross-platform content delivery and ensures the company is on the cutting edge of audience engagement.
Previously he was editorial director at Rogers Media-owned Marketing magazine in Toronto and at Calgary-based RedPoint Media Group, where he was named Editor of the Year in 2010 by the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association. He sits on the leadership board of the Canadian Marketing Association, consults for the U.S.-based Content Marketing Institute and speaks and writes extensively about the state of marketing and advertising in Canada and beyond.
Tom also sits on numerous juries and judging panels that celebrate the best work of Canada's marketers and storytellers, and also volunteers his time to mentoring students entering Canada's creative industries.Farnaz Riahi

Farnaz Riahi leads Canada Wide Media’s finance and accounting teams, and oversees the Information Technology and Human Resources departments.
Farnaz graduated from the University of Toronto with an honours degree in Commerce (BComm), majoring in economics and minoring in French. She obtained her CA designation while at Ernst and Young, Toronto in 1999. Since then Farnaz has spent her career in the media industry, first in broadcast, in both public and private organizations, and now in publishing. She has years of experience in strategic planning, financial management, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions and more recently in IT and HR management.
Farnaz moved to Vancouver in 2004, and has made Vancouver, and Whistler, her home. When not working, she can be found skiing, biking or hiking the mountains near Whistler, or discovering the various hidden culinary delights Vancouver has to offer (paired with good wine of course).Holly Pateman

Holly joined Canada Wide Media in 2011, overseeing the strategic and creative development for all corporate and brand-based marketing initiatives.
Holly began her career at Canada's most decorated agency, DDB Canada, going on to manage the advertising department at iconic Canadian retailer, a&b sound, where her love of digital was born. This passion took her to the start-up scene where she spent six years mastering the art of online audience engagement and developing high-functioning teams before bringing her traditional and digital marketing skills together at Canada Wide Media.

As Vice President of Sales, Karen works with Canada Wide’s team of sales professionals to find new and exciting ways to connect businesses with their targeted audience. Karen’s past experience with print, broadcast, and digital media brings strength and creativity to the team. Karen came to Canada Wide from RedPoint Media Group in Calgary, where she managed both the advertising and marketing teams, building a strong print and digital presence for several regional and national brands. Prior to that, Karen was with CTV (Calgary), managing multi-million dollar marketing budgets for both regional and national key accounts. Other experience includes sales, management, and training for traditional and new media across several industries, from investor relations to lifestyle businesses. Karen’s experience and versatility across multiple advertising channels brings a level of expertise when creating customized solutions for Canada Wide’s clientele.Rebecca Legge

Recently appointed Vice President, Specialty Sales, Rebecca's new role is to manage Canada Wide’s custom publishing clients' advertising needs. She works to connect the CWM sales representatives with the publication's targeted audience in addition to working with CWM's clients to find new and exciting ways to help move their traditional publishing models into the digital world.
Rebecca also helps grow the custom business side of Canada Wide and enjoys working with new clients to help determine their multi-platform publishing needs whether they are online, in print or both. Rebecca also sits on the Board of Directors for Canada Wide Media and is involved in the strategic planning and vision for the company.Samantha Legge

Samantha is a Vice President and member of Canada Wide Media Limited’s Board of Directors, which is responsible for the overall management, strategy, fiscal responsibilities and leadership of the company.
With 20 years of industry experience, she has been involved in every facet of Canada Wide’s publishing business including leading the circulation, marketing and digital divisions. She has also been a publisher for numerous titles including TVW magazine, BCHome + Garden magazine, Granville magazine and bcliving.
Samantha is a graduate of BCIT, Magna Cum Laude, with a diploma in Marketing Management. She received her MBA from Royal Roads University in 2001, and is a former board member of Magazines Canada and past chair of the Public Affairs committee.
She is an active volunteer for the YWCA Vancouver and Hope International, and a past Board of Director of Theatre Under the Stars and the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre.Scott Wheatley

Scott lectures regularly on circulation for Simon Fraser University's School of Communications Magazine Publishing Program and Capilano University's Magazine Publishing Certificate Program. He is a member of Magazines Canada Postal Sub Committee and Blue Box Committee as well as Canadian Circulation Audit Board’s Canadian Magazine Audience Development and Fulfillment Professionals Advisory Committee.Kim McLane

Kim McLane leads Canada Wide's production team, ensuring delivery of cross-platform media products to our audiences and the audiences of our clients.
She has led the implementation of tablet publishing at Canada Wide in recent months and her expertise in this space is encouraging more of our clients to invest in tablet publishing solutions as a means to audience engagement. Kim has more than 20 years of experience in the print, publishing and multi-media industries, the last 11 of which have been with Canada Wide.

Ray is accountable for managing and growing the digital media operation at Canada Wide Media (CWM). His focus is on delivering innovative digital technology solutions and services that deliver real business value to CWM and its customers.
Ray has held senior technical, program management, and leadership roles in the healthcare, telecommunication, digital entertainment, and digital media industries. Prior to joining Canada Wide, Ray spent the past 13 years working for TELUS and various Fortune 100 companies in the U.S. like McKesson and Electronic Arts.
Ray graduated with a BSc in Computer Science and Economics from UBC, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from SFU and a Master in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo. Ray is also an active contributor in the project/program management community and holds various professional certifications like Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and ITIL.
In his free time, Ray enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also has an obsession with sports and MMA.Mike Packer

Mike Packer officially joined the Canada Wide Media team in July of 2012 as Director of Information Technology, after working with the company since 2009 in a contract role helping with Canada Wide's Internet platform.
After spending the last 11 years of his career working on cutting-edge enterprise applications, Internet, multimedia and broadcast projects for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation it was time for a change. Before CBC Mike was Involved in an Internet start-up that delivered online K-12 science curricula. This was one of first full multimedia websites available which relied heavily on Adobe Shockwave and Flash technology.
Mike also consults with other small and mid-sized companies to help plan and implement technology strategies to grow and modernize their businesses.Rick Thibert

Rick has worked in the industry for over 30 years. A graduate from the Ontario College of Art and Design, he packed his bags and started his career as a freelance designer and illustrator in Los Angeles, California. He moved back to Canada and worked in Alberta for 10 years, freelancing with local studios and printers before co-owning a design studio in Edmonton.
Drawn to the West Coast, Rick soon found his way to Vancouver, where he worked for studios in the city doing agency work and freelancing. Rick has been a member of the Canada Wide Media for the past 23 years. During that time he has worked on almost every title in some capacity. He guided the art direction of the award winning CAA Westworld/Going Places Network and special projects for the past 10 years and is most recently involved with the Masters of Publishing program at Simon Fraser University as a visiting design advisor and critic.Mike Roberts

Mike spent 20 years in the newsrooms of Vancouver’s major dailies before leaving The Province in 2008 to become the Managing Editor of three weekly Metro Vancouver community newspapers. He trained in new media design and web development at BCIT before joining Canada Wide Media in 2010 as Editorial Operations Manager.
Mike was recently appointed Managing Director, Custom Publishing, and helps manage Canada Wide's many client publications. He enjoys working with Canada Wide’s integrated teams of media professionals to create engaging content for varied audiences across all of today’s publishing platforms, from the printed page to the mobile device.
Always keen to keep his hand in the editor's game, Mike is currently editor of PS magazine, and editor of Communicator, a B2B publication of Motion Industries (Canada).Joy Ginete
Accounting & HR ManagerJoy Ginete — Accounting & HR Manager
Joy Ginete-Cockle joined Canada Wide Media in 2006 and is currently the HR Manager and senior accountant. Joy earned her license as a certified public accountant—and her MBA—in the Philippines. Before emigrating, she headed the budget department at one of the biggest, leading shipping companies in the country, and spent two years as a part-time accounting professor at the University of St La Salle. Prior to joining Canada Wide Media, Joy was the controller of Qualica Financial and Vision Critical.
With over 20 years experience in the field of finance and accounting, along with more recent experience learning and working on the human resources side of the publishing business, Joy finds her current role both rewarding and challenging.
Joy moved to Canada in 2000 where she met her husband and has since made this country and beautiful British Columbia her home.
