About Us

You may know us as the largest independently owned magazine publishing company in Western Canada – but we’re so much more. Canada Wide Media Limited provides a diverse range of media services and products, ranging from high-end printed publications to the latest in digital media. For over 30 years, we’ve grabbed the attention of audiences across Western Canada.

From creating the latest in digital media to high-end printed publications, we do it all.

We’re not obsessed with numbers. But these are too good to keep to ourselves. We proudly publish 43 quality products (at last count):

  • 8 self-owned magazines,
  • 19 custom publications for leading clients,
  • 11 eNewsletters and 5 very cool websites.

We even do books. Oh, and did we mention we have over 6 million readers?

People

Behind the scenes, we employ more than 130 media professionals. Take a stroll through our doors in Burnaby, B.C., and you’ll meet everyone from writers, editors and art directors, to web developers, data management experts, advertising sales professionals and circulation managers. That’s a whole lot of expertise, all under one roof.

Relationships

They say you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep, and the same goes for a great business. We’re proud of our long-term relationships with several of Canada’s top companies, including both suppliers and clients. Many have even been with us from the very beginning - over 30 years.

Culture

We pride ourselves on being a hardworking company with a big heart. We believe that giving back to the community is good business, and we’ve donated millions of dollars in products, services, advertising space and direct donations to a wide range of worthy charities.

History

In 1976, Canada Wide Media Limited co-founder and CEO Peter Legge purchased a humble TV listings magazine and sold it for 10 cents a copy. The rest, as they say, is history. Over the next 30 years, Peter transformed his modest enterprise into one of Canada’s most successful print and digital media companies. He also turned that 10-cent magazine, TV Week, into one of the highest paid-circulated entertainment and lifestyle magazine in the country. If we can do that for ourselves, just think what we can do for you.
